As our propeller cut through the late afternoon light, the dunefields of the Dorob seemed to catch fire, each wave of sand an alternating band of shadow and bronze.
Sometimes the only way to convey the vastness and magic of the desert landscapes of Namibia is to photograph ourselves flying over it.
Recently we did a late afternoon shoot of both our aircraft over the dune fields south of Swakopmund on the Namibian coastline to capture just that.
One of the images of the Maule STOL bushplane flying low over the dunes was published as the opening shot in the SA Flyer Magazine this month.
